Job Overview

The Administrator directs and supervises the operations of all departments and the care and well‑being of the residents of the Retirement Home. The role includes managing resident life, overseeing meals, activities, social programs, and maintaining health and safety compliance, while ensuring all personnel are properly certified and records are securely managed.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained and certified as required by RHRA, municipal licensing, professional associations, provincial and federal regulations.
  • Maintain resident records, including admission, care records, and regular updates, in compliance with RHRA requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure programs are planned, promoted, and delivered by the social programs manager.
  • Prepare and schedule staff work schedules in a timely manner; post bi‑weekly schedules; review compliance within budgeted hours.
  • Adhere to all budgets and legislated rules at all times; ensure variances are reported.
  • Ensure proper charting and documentation when a resident is admitted (care, dietary, activation needs).
  • Maintain and enforce all regulations in the operation of the residence, providing a safe and secure environment.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staff contracts, and records professionally.
