A government office in Courtenay is seeking a Legal Assistant to support Crown Counsel in case preparation. This full-time role requires strong organizational skills and experience in legal settings. The Team
At the Courtenay Crown Counsel Office you’ll join an established team of professionals including Legal Assistants, a Legal Office Manager and Crown Counsel. This close-knit group promotes public safety, justice, and respect for the rule of law through fair and effective prosecutions and appeals. The Role
As a Legal Assistant you will support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files for court proceedings. Working under the supervision of Crown Counsel and the Office Manager you will perform a variety of legal services in a high-profile and fast-paced office. Your role requires flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely completion of responsibilities.

There is one permanent full time opportunity available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
