Job summary

ErinoakKids Center for Treatment and Development in Mississauga seeks a Clinical Therapist for Autism Services to provide ABA-based behavioral interventions under supervision, delivering services in various settings for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Qualifications

  • Psychology degree or autism-related diploma preferred; other related diplomas considered (ECE, CYW).
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is required.
  • Outstanding organizational capacity.
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills; ambassador of ErinoakKids.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter and proactive in resolving problems.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) and ability to learn new databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to develop, implement, and deliver treatments based on ABA principles.
  • Deliver individualized behavioural intervention in learning settings (group or one-to-one).
  • Make data-based decisions on treatment planning to enhance outcomes.
  • Identify supports and barriers to learning and relay findings to the treatment team.
  • Engage in parent coaching, deliver education workshops, and coordinate learning transfer with schools.
  • Address challenging behaviours through function-based analysis and treatment.
  • Work in a team environment and collaborate on lesson plans.

Site: Mississauga
Time: Mon-Fri 8:15 AM- 4:15 PM (37.5 Hours/Week)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Positions:Replacement
Compensation: $29.14 - $34.05/hour

Position Summary

We are currently seeking talented individuals to fill the role of Clinical Therapist withinAutism Services Department. Autism Services provides a wide range of inter-professional therapy to children with autism and their families. Under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor, a Clinical Therapist will be responsible for delivering individualized behavioural intervention in a variety of learning settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with theClinical Supervisorto develop, implement, and deliver treatments based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis;
  • Deliver individualized behavioural intervention in a variety of learning settings such as classroom groups and/or one-to-one;
  • Make data-based decisions on treatment planning for clients so as to enhance children's response to treatment;
  • Identify supports and barriers to learning for each child and bring this information to treatment on a day-to-day basis;
  • Actively engage in parent coaching, deliver education workshops, and coordinate transfer of learning with schools;
  • Address challenging behaviours through function-based analysis and treatment.
  • Work in a team environment and collaborate with peers (e.g. developing lesson plans)
Qualifications
  • A Psychology Degree or diploma in Autism Behavioral Sciences is a strong asset; however, other related diplomas will be considered (ECE, CYW);
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is required;
  • Outstanding organizational capacity;
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills, comfortable acting as an ambassador of ErinoakKids;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization, ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a professional and timely manner;
  • Self-starter and proactive approach in resolving problems and issues;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new database systems required;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • An ability to display a high level of initiative;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting;
  • Knowledge of technology solutions for children with autism;
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings.
