Job summary

This is an advanced, professional and leadership position within the Physiotherapy services of the Rural Medicine Program. The incumbent supports outpatient services, residents in long-term care facilities, and may provide coverage to acute care inpatients, including Emergency Room patients.

The Physiotherapist II will serve Outpatients and Emergency patients at Dr S Beckley Health Centre, Long Term Care at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank Home and US Memorial Health Centre, St.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/recognized School of Physiotherapy is required.
• Registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists (NLCP) is required.
• A minimum of three years' experience within the last five working as a Clinical Physiotherapist with adult clients is required.
• Successful completion of a post entry education course in Orthopedic Level I (or equivalent as determined by Eastern Health) is required.
• Demonstrated effective communication, both verbally and in writing with co-workers, patients and their families in both a one-on-one and/or group environment.
• Effectively translated and communicated knowledge in the specialized area of physiotherapy practice to others.
• Possessed proven leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to provide supervision, coaching, mentorship and training to physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers and students.
• Ability to prioritize caseload and patient needs.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as a member of an interprofessional team.
• Use of a personal vehicle is required.
• A satisfactory record of work performance is required.

Responsibilities

• This role provides physiotherapy services to Outpatients and Emergency patients at Dr S Beckley Health Centre.
• Responsibilities include Long Term Care at Blue Crest Nursing Home and Grand Bank Home and at US Memorial Health Centre, St. Lawrence.
• Reports to the Manager of Allied Health and collaborates with an interprofessional team.

CG-43 (CAD46.39 - CAD57.26 per hour) which includes any negotiated wage adjustment and/or supplement as applicable

Job Summary

This is an advanced, professional and leadership position within the Physiotherapy services of the Rural Medicine Program. The incumbent is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to clients in outpatient services, residents in the long-term care facilities in the region and may also provide coverage to acute care inpatients, including patients in the Emergency Room.

The Physiotherapist II will provide service to Outpatients and Emergency patients at Dr S Beckley Health Centre, Long Term Care at both the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank Home and at US Memorial Health Centre, St. Lawrence.

This position reports to the Manager of Allied Health and maintains accountability for professional integrity issues to the Professional Practice Consultant for the discipline.

• Occasionally uses hand tools and equipment.
• Time pressures and interruptions are experienced with little control over work pace.
• Higher than normal levels of attentiveness/alertness is required when performing activities in ICU with critically ill patients and dealing with clients with complex medical conditions
