Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective drug therapy and contribute to patient-focused care.
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and document outcomes.
• Administer vaccines when applicable.
• Assess appropriateness of therapy and monitor adherence.
• Collect relevant patient and drug information for care decisions.
• Recommend OTC products and vitamins as appropriate.
• Answer patient questions requiring clinical knowledge or analysis.
• Supervise pharmacy students or provisional pharmacists when needed.
• Other duties as required by the department.

Position Details:

• Up to 40 hrs / week
• Hours- Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30pm

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service and workflow efficiencies.

• Focus on clinical services (i.e., medication reviews, disease state management)
• Initiate care plans, follow up and document
• Administer vaccines
• Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
• Monitor medication adherence
• Collect and document relevant patient, drug, and disease information
• Recommend OTC products and vitamins
• Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
• Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities
• Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in Kroll
• Experience working in a retail environment
• Good communication skills (both oral and written)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
