We believe in what we do—and place trust in our employees to deliver our vision. Working at Alberta Blue Cross® means having a career where you’ll be recognized for your contributions. We value diversity, encourage our team members to maintain a healthy work-life balance and provide opportunities for career growth.

OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross® has an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist to apply clinical knowledge and skills to a variety of processes we have in place to meet the needs of our customers. The primary focus will be on pharmaceutical and disease state knowledge to support the determination of drug eligibility via special authorization. Pharmacists also provide valuable support to Drug Review Committee in reviewing drug products and providing listing/drug management recommendations. This position will appeal to motivated and enthusiastic team players who are looking for different ways to apply their superior communication and organizational skills in a non-traditional clinical setting.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

A Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy, a minimum of three years’ experience in a hospital or community pharmacy and a license to practice in Alberta. Strong clinical skills, good attention to detail, and a commitment to quality customer experience are required for success in this position and will be critical selection factors. Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office is required (i.e. Word, Excel, and preferably Access). Demonstrated leadership abilities, presentation skills, and experience with drug utilization/claims profile reviews and in the areas of pharmaco-economic and pharmaco-epidemiologic assessment would be definite assets.

This position will remain open until suitable candidates are selected.

Alberta Blue Cross® is an inclusive employer committed to a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We empower and are advocates for our team members by welcoming, respecting and valuing their unique perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We offer the opportunity to work in an innovative, high-energy team-focused environment.

A criminal record check satisfactory to Alberta Blue Cross will be required as a condition of employment, following a conditional offer.

We are committed to providing the best health coverage to over 1.8 million members and take an active role in promoting the wellness of all Albertans.
