Job summary

Interior Health’s Vernon Jubilee Hospital Pharmacy Team seeks an experienced Clinical Pharmacist in Vernon, BC. The role covers acute and residential care, focusing on personalized assessments and serving as the primary drug information resource for the care team.

You will monitor therapy for safety and effectiveness, record workload and recommendations, interpret orders, and dispense medications in line with legal and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Completion of Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency program (ACPR1).
  • Or a combination of at least one year of recent relevant clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Or a combination of at least 3 years of recent relevant clinical pharmacy experience with training/experience.
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services in acute care and residential care settings.
  • Monitor drug prescribing, distribution, and therapy for safety, effectiveness and economy.
  • Oversee ongoing drug therapy, assess effectiveness, compliance, adverse reactions and interactions.
  • Maintain workload records, communicate findings and recommendations to the healthcare team.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation in patient health records or computerized systems.
  • Interpret medication orders, input into databases, and dispense prescriptions per standards.

About the Job

As a pivotal member of our multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Pharmacist delivers exceptional clinical pharmacy services in both acute care and residential care settings. Your role involves personalized treatment assessments, serving as the primary drug information resource, and offering expert advice to healthcare professionals.   • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
