Job Description

The Clinical Manager provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental standards, procedures, and goals; actively participates in the hospital PI process. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of nursing care, setting nursing standards for patient care, and assessing the professional growth of employees. The role involves identifying educational needs and developing provisions to meet educational goals using internal and external resources. The Clinical Manager hires, counsels, evaluates performance, and develops yearly goals in collaboration with employees and physicians. They assist with preparing the unit budget, ensure compliance with regulations, monitor budgets, and handle employee discipline and policy establishment. The role requires attending meetings and committees as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Current Clinical Managers without a BSN must obtain it by December 31, 2019.
  • Experience: 2 years in a Charge position and 4 years of progressive nursing experience.
  • Certifications: ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire; BLS certification required; PCCN, CMSRN, or Board Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles, data assessment, and care provision for various patient age groups.
  • FLSA Classification: Exempt
