Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Clinical Lead for Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice (TRIP) within Mental Health and Substance Use. Responsibilities

  • Leads, plans, develops, implements and evaluates new/ redesigned Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices to support care improvement priorities.
  • Functions as a strategic resource for Mental Health & Substance Use and Clinical management, ensuring optimal design of TRIP workflows and service models.
  • Provides clinical guidance and consultation to clinicians on TRIP integration within assigned areas.
  • Advises clinical leaders on impacts of TRIP integration from organizational and workforce perspectives.
  • Participates in TRIP communities of practice for development and evaluation of standards and tools.
  • Promotes an evidence-based TRIP environment and supports staff training in TRIP initiatives.
  • Develops tools to measure progress and outcomes of TRIP initiatives and supports decision making.
  • Maintains networks with publicly funded health organizations to stay updated.

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

The Clinical Lead, Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice (TRIP) is situated within Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) and provides clinical leadership to advance Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice (TRIP) within MHSU programs, while supporting collaboration and knowledge sharing with other Fraser Health portfolios and partners. The Clinical Lead is an advocate and active role model for Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice, supporting its integration into clinical practice expectations, staff support approaches, and quality/safety improvement activities across Fraser Health and with external partners. The Clinical Lead services Fraser Health broadly by supporting individuals and teams, within and across Fraser Health, through the provision of mentorship, guidance, support, and expertise in Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice and functions as an expert and liaison in developing, monitoring and ensuring Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice quality assurance. The Clinical Lead is responsible for coordinating and supervising knowledge mobilization activities; assisting in the development of policy, procedures, and guidelines related to Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice.

Responsibilities
  1. Leads, plans, develops, implements and evaluates new or redesigned Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices to support care improvement priorities while ensuring alignment with operational requirements and provincial mandates; incorporates current evidence-based clinical practice with organizational change methodologies in the redesign or creation of clinical programs that transform Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice delivery, culture and system structure.
  2. Functions as a strategic resource for the Mental Health & Substance Use and Clinical management team; provides coordination and consultation within a change management and clinical service context to ensure optimal design and use of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices, workflows and service models; and identifies and/or resolves issues encountered to ensure the new or redesigned clinical programs are ready for implementation.
  3. Provides clinical guidance, support and consultation to clinicians and clinical leadership regarding the application of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice within the assigned program/service area(s); collaborates with clinical teams to support and/or inform the service delivery changes through workflow assessment and redesign; and coordinates with corporate and clinical partners to ensure clinical practice, technology requirements, and privacy and security standards are met.
  4. Acts as an advisor to clinical leaders regarding assessment of impacts of incorporating Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices into service delivery, from an organizational, operational, workforce and systems perspective. Informs the development of standard resources to assess the ability of clinicians/programs to incorporate Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices into service delivery; promotes awareness and knowledge of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices and tools with clinical, professional practice, and education partners to enable clinical improvement activities.
  5. Participates in Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices communities of practice in the development, implementation and evaluation of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practices standards, competencies and clinical tools consistent with professional, legal and ethical requirements.
  6. Promotes an evidence-based Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice environment by promoting the use of research findings in Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice, systems and tools; and identifies the educational needs of staff and supports the development/delivery of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice training to provide quality services to clients.
  7. Develops and/or recommends tools and mechanisms to measure, monitor and evaluate the progress and identify the outcomes of Trauma & Resilience Informed Practice initiatives to improve care, service delivery and utilization; provides support to those with operational accountability in the design and/or redesign of processes, systems and tools to collect information to aid in decision making, planning and continuous improvement; monitors outcomes and produces regular reports on the status of various clinical initiatives for review and follow up.
  8. Links and networks with other publicly funded health organizations, and professional associations to keep abreast of relevant changes and innovations.
Qualifications

Master's degree in an applicable health or social science field such as Clinical Counselling or Social Work, including training and/or experience in counselling and education.

Registration with relevant professional association.

Seven (7) years recent related clinical experience in a health care environment including five (5) years' experience responsible for managing and leading program development and/or quality improvement initiatives/projects that related to trauma informed/related practices, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
