Qualifications

Job description
Position Summary

Joining Royal Inland Hospital, the Nutritional & Eating Disorder Dietitian becomes an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team, providing comprehensive nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents, and groups in alignment with established policies, standards, and procedures. In this role, the Dietitian applies advanced clinical techniques in nutrition management, specializing in the treatment of nutritional and eating disorders as well as weight preoccupation across diverse client populations.

The Dietitian also serves as a clinical resource for fellow dietitians and other community health care providers, offering expertise, guidance, and ongoing support. Additional responsibilities include delivering in‑services and educational sessions on nutrition and eating disorders to staff, students, physicians, and community agencies. The role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating nutritional care based on current practice guidelines, as well as instructing and counseling clients and their families on nutritional requirements, clinical diet regimens, and effective food planning and preparation.

This is a part‑time relief position available until September 2, 2027, or until the incumbent returns. The scheduled shifts run from Tuesday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Earn $40.75 to $50.87 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
  • Successful completion of an accredited hospital‑based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
  • Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • Knowledge of eating disorder theory, available programs and services, their interrelationships and their function in delivering care in the community.
  • Two (2) years experience in clinical dietetics including recent related experience in nutritional counseling and eating disorders, working with youth, and in adult education.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License.
