Clinical Counsellor (Punjabi/Hindi) – Refugee Support

Job summary

A community support organization in Surrey is looking for a Clinical Counsellor to provide essential counselling services to refugees. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in a related field and possess fluency in Punjabi or Hindi. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, delivering therapeutic interventions, and working collaboratively with clients and care professionals. This role requires a commitment to support vulnerable populations, including flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years’ recent related clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
• Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation preferred.
• Understanding of the immigrant and refugee experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and implement therapeutic interventions.
• Develop and implement approaches to support clients based on their needs.
• Maintain records and prepare documentation as required.

Skills

Fluency in Punjabi/Hindi Language

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Education

Master’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work or a related discipline
