Job summary

A leading staffing organization is seeking a Clinical Business Analyst - Documentation to support the standardization and implementation of a Clinical Information System in New Brunswick. This remote role focuses on optimizing clinical documentation workflows and requires significant experience in healthcare documentation and Health Information Systems. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills. This is a 12-month contract position with a competitive pay rate of C$80-C$90/hr.

Job Title: Clinical Business Analyst - Documentation

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Client: Public Healthcare Sector

Pay Rate: C$80-C$90/hr

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Business Analyst - Documentation to support the standardization and implementation of a large-scale Clinical Information System (CIS) across a provincial healthcare environment. This role focuses on designing, documenting, and optimizing clinical documentation workflows to ensure consistency, usability, and alignment with leading clinical practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams to gather requirements, design standards, and support the adoption of digital clinical documentation practices across acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the standardization, design, build, and implementation of clinical documentation practices and workflows across the healthcare system
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the impact of CIS/EHR systems and digitization on clinical documentation, workflows, and procedures
  • Facilitate engagement and working sessions to document current-state workflows and design future-state processes
  • Collaborate with clinicians, SMEs, and project teams to gather and define business and system requirements
  • Conduct gap analysis, workflow analysis, and detailed solution design activities
  • Develop and maintain business analysis documentation, including workflows, use cases, user stories, user guides, and training materials
  • Support the adoption and change management of new clinical documentation standards
  • Build, validate, and test clinical content within the CIS environment
  • Contribute to project delivery by supporting stakeholder communication, implementation planning, and continuous improvement activities
  • Work independently while managing multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
Mandatory Qualifications
  • University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Clinical Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst focused on documentation-related requirements, workshops, process analysis, and solution design
  • 5+ years of experience working with acute care Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations related to clinical documentation
  • 3+ years of experience supporting health information systems or CIS implementation projects involving documentation workflows
  • Ability to start work within the specified project timeframe
Scored Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience supporting documentation initiatives such as clinical documentation, order sets, CPOE, or ancillary systems (Pharmacy, Lab, Medical Imaging)
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills with clinicians and healthcare providers
  • Experience developing use cases, user stories, and detailed workflow designs
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to multitask across multiple project streams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience using JIRA or similar work management tools
  • Prior experience working within public healthcare organizations
  • Bilingual (English and French) communication skills are a strong asset
