Job summary

A local community support organization in Powell River is seeking a Client Support Worker to provide essential assistance to individuals with brain injuries. In this full-time role, you will support clients in their rehabilitation and daily activities. Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and experience in client support. List of Requirements
  • Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract and have access to a vehicle (to engage in client outreach services)
  • Strong experience with digital skills and technology. Ability to assist clients with all aspects of technology.
  • Experience in client support or social services, with preference given to those with experience working with brain injury or neurological disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Knowledge of brain injury and its impacts on daily life (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset but not required.
List of Duties
  • Provide one-on-one support to clients with brain injuries in their daily activities and rehabilitation plans.
  • Assist with goal-setting and developing personalized support plans to meet clients’ needs.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to clients and their families.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals, community services, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the supervisor.
  • Help clients access community resources and programs to foster independence and integration.
  • Organize and facilitate group activities or workshops aimed at skill-building and social engagement.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure their needs are being met and rights are upheld.
  • Provide outreach services including travel to clients in surrounding areas and client support to engage in community activities
