Job summary

NFP in Calgary is seeking a Client Executive to join our Small Market Commercial team. You will quote commercial leads, develop submissions with underwriters, and hand off service to the Account Manager while building strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate holds AB General 1, has 3+ years of commercial or personal lines sales experience, and can navigate risk in Small-Market business. A hybrid work setup at our Calgary office is available.

Qualifications

  • Valid AB General 1 license is required.
  • Typically 3+ years of commercial or personal lines sales experience.
  • Knowledge of Small-Market business risks and IRCA knowledge is an asset.
  • Proven track record in insurance sales and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Quote commercial leads from multiple sources the same day or next business day.
  • Develop submissions with underwriting staff to meet client needs and close sales.
  • Hand off service delivery to the appropriate Account Manager.
  • Field client service requests and ensure follow-through or referral.
  • Cross-sell with other lines of business and meet sales targets.
  • Maintain relationships with underwriters and resolve client concerns professionally.
  • Quoting new prospects using IRCA quoter or portals as needed.
  • Represent the brokerage at industry events when required.

About the Role

We're looking for a Client Executive to join our award-winning Business Insurance division for our Alberta clients. The successful candidate will employ their industry knowledge & experience to initiate and develop new commercial lines relationships for our Small Market Business Team.

What You'll Do
  • Work in a fast paced environment that will allow you to quote commercial leads generated from various sources on the same day as received or worse case next business day.
  • Develop submissions (in conjunction with commercial lines underwriting staff) to markets that will meet present/emerging needs of the client and close the sale
  • Hand-off responsibility for provision of service to clients to the relevant Account Manager in the service teams
  • When appropriate to the maintenance of good customer service, field customer service requests (especially post-sale of one's clients), and ensure the completion by oneself, or by referral to the service Account Manager
  • Develop a cross-selling protocol that allows the opportunity for integrated selling with all commercial sales to other lines of business
  • Meeting and/or exceeding individual sales targets as well as department goals
  • Maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with key underwriters
  • Resolving any concerns or complaints with a professional demeanour by using product and service knowledge
  • Quoting new prospects using NFP's new IRCA quoter as well as ARS or Company Portals if required
  • Representing the brokerage at industry functions when required
  • Keeping current on industry changes, underwriting rules and workflow processes
What You Bring
  • Valid AB General 1 is required, additional licensing would be considered an asset
  • Typically, 3+ years of commercial or personal lines sales experience
  • Knowledge of risks associated with Small-Market business
  • Technical knowledge of IRCA (Individually Rated Commercial Auto)
  • Proven track record in insurance sales
  • Self-motivated with a passion for sales & committed to delivering a top-notch client experience
  • Self-managing with strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills with attention to the details
  • Confident, poised and interactive - when client-facing communicates effectively, demonstrates emotional intelligence, and understands how to tailor responses in a variety of dynamic situations
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to adapt to and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven technical competency and creativity demonstrating excellence in developing and delivering innovative property and casualty solutions
  • Prior experience in lead management software or CRM platforms such as Salesforce would be considered an asset
  • Excellent computer skills expected with knowledge of Applied EPIC an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products - specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
