Job summary

CIBC Wood Gundy is seeking a Client Associate in Richmond to support Investment Advisors and manage client portfolios. You will engage with high-net-worth clients, identify opportunities, and contribute to business development while delivering exceptional client service.

On-site full-time role with a base salary across a defined range and annual discretionary bonus. A strong focus on client experience and community engagement will be essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • Fluent bilingual (English, Mandarin, Cantonese) with strong communication skills.
  • Current CIRO-ID Investment Representative accreditation in good standing.
  • Asset if you have Registered Representative (RR) licensing.
  • Experience in Financial Services or Brokerage with quotation equipment.
  • Demonstrated client-first approach and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Engage high-net-worth clients to support portfolios and uncover opportunities.
  • Assist Investment Advisors with business development and investment planning based on client profiles.
  • Build and deepen client relationships through proactive outreach and exceptional service.
  • Represent CIBC in the community to grow the network and opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

As a Client Associate, you will work closely with Investment Advisors at CIBC Wood Gundy to help manage their portfolios and develop new business. You will directly engage with high-net-worth clients to offer support, uncover business opportunities, and proactively improve the client experience. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time Monday through Friday. The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $51,500 to $60,200. The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles. In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program. How you’ll succeed
  • Client Engagement - Focus on each client's experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful. Anticipate client needs and communicate promptly with your team to build trust and deepen client relationships. Identify activities, processes, and opportunities to improve the client experience.
  • Business Development – Proactively identify business opportunities for your team. Work closely with Investment Advisors to support business development activities and assist in the building of investment plans based on the client’s profile, goals, and risk/reward tolerance.
  • Relationship Building - Heighten CIBC brand awareness in your community by attending local events and participating in marketing and outreach activities. Grow your network to create lasting connections that will generate future opportunities.
Who you are
  • Fully bilingual. Mandarin, Cantonese and English speaking and writing.
  • You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and are in good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization - Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID).
  • It is an asset if you have Registered Representative (RR) licensing.
  • Financial Services and/or Brokerage industry experience and working knowledge of various quotation equipment is required.
