About the Role

The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient / family preferences, needs, and values and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Applicants are required to have a demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to this care philosophy.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from a recognized secretarial course.
  • Completed course in medical terminology.
  • Must have good interpersonal, organizational, communication and telephone skills.
  • Must be able to enter 55 w.p.m. accurately on a computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to handle multi line telephones (take over switchboard duties on the night shift).
  • Must be knowledgeable of the various health care services within the community.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with Emergency or Admitting experience.
  • Knowledge of Meditech ADM and EDM programs is required.
Salary Range

$28.208 to 28.879

Candidates will have demonstrated adherence to the Hospital's Code of Conduct. Regular attendance at work is imperative, therefore, all applicants will have to demonstrate a good attendance record to be considered for this position.
