Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

Salary: $1,798.30 - $2,105.55 biweekly as per the Clerk B classification

Job Profile

Under general supervision of the Coordinator of Licensing Vehicles for Hire, the Clerk B – Licensing assists in receiving and processing applications for licenses, coordinates approvals, issues approved licenses and provides related general information on the Vehicles for Hire by-law. This position also communications interpretations of related sections of the by-law, and associated legislations.

As The Clerk B - Licensing , You Will

  • Provide customer service with respect to the Vehicle for Hire By-law and process applications for licenses and license renewals and maintain records on the system.
  • Review applications and request outstanding information required to process the application.
  • Verify value, collect appropriate fees, issue approved license and answer related questions.
  • Provide Vehicle for Hire license information and license renewal services to customers.
  • Maintain records related to license applications, generate reports and provide clerical support to the division.
  • Assist in developing standard letters on license applications, approvals, denials, etc.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 Diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience (1 year) working in a clerical role providing customer service to a variety of individuals such as internal and external stakeholders/customers/clients.
  • Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships, interact effectively with co-workers, managers, and the public with tact and diplomacy, including in highly stressful and/or confrontational situations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate in a clear and effective manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to meet operational expectations while providing effective service
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence in a clear and effective manner.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret various guiding documents and exercise sound judgement to make decisions on behalf of Vehicles for Hire.
  • Ability to reconcile sales, including ability to identify errors and resolve them.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
