A day in the life of an All Purpose Clerk:

As a customer yourself, you understand the importance of helpful service. The impression shoppers get at the front end of the store is key to building customer loyalty. Maintaining a well-stocked store in both the Grocery and Produce sections ensures a quick, easy, and efficient shopping experience. Our All Purpose Clerks play a vital role in the success of our stores. Full training is provided for this position.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

• No previous experience required

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold and comply with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations
• Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrate superior customer service according to Safeway’s programs
• Process payments via cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit
• Wrap and bag merchandise
• Maintain cleanliness of check stands
• Stock shelves with Dairy, Frozen, Produce, and Non-perishable items
• Build and maintain merchandise displays in line with Safeway programs
• Rotate products appropriately
• Load and unload products for the sales floor
• Assist with backroom and inventory management
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

• Constant reaching and gripping

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Occasional crouching, kneeling, and squatting
