Job summary

Sault Area Hospital is seeking a Cleaner- Housekeeping for a temporary full-time role. The position requires availability for days, evenings, nights, and weekends across all shift times.

You will wash surfaces, vacuum, perform floor care, terminal cleaning of clinical spaces, and help with waste disposal. Strong teamwork, reliability, and basic computer literacy with MS Office are expected.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or Project Search graduate.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Wash walls, ceilings, lights, vents and all surfaces in all areas of the hospital, using a ladder as required.
• Perform vacuuming and cleaning of carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Perform all floor maintenance procedures, including: mopping, stripping, refinishing and buffing using scrubbers, polishers and autos scrubbers, wet vacuum cleaners and chemicals.
• Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms, delivery rooms and strict isolation rooms.
• Perform routine and discharge cleaning of patient areas, including stripping and making the bed or stretcher.
• Perform cleanup of spills and floods, and collect waste for disposal. May be required to assist the Sanitary Collector.
• Use and maintain housekeeping supplies and equipment safely and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Must be available for all shifts and call- ins.
• This position includes extended standing, walking, lifting, and climbing using proper technique.

Note: Shifts are days, evening, nights and weekends. Shift are 8 hours shifts and example of shift times are 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 11am-7pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am. You would need to be available as a part time staff member to work all required times. Please take these shift times into consideration when applying for the position
