Job summary

Aerotek is seeking experienced Industrial Painters and Sandblasters for permanent roles in Surrey, BC. Work involves industrial painting, coating, and sandblasting on refinery projects, with emphasis on pipe prep for welders and structural steel.

You will operate power tools, apply epoxy/urethane coatings, and follow safety guidelines. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime on Fridays, 5x10-hour days, extended benefits including weekly pay, medical and dental, and RRSP

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial painting and blasting experience on industrial sites.
  • Proficiency with power tool cleaning and brush/roller paint application.
  • Certifications in WHMIS, Fall protection, and Respirator Fit testing.

  • Perform power tool cleaning and prep work for painting tasks.
  • Prep surfaces using hand and power tools including grinders and orbital sanders.
  • Assist blasting by handling blast lines, filling blast pots, and fueling compressors.
  • Assist painters by pulling lines and moving lighting equipment.
  • Apply masking techniques using tape and paper.
  • Work under supervision with training and mentorship.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Industrial Painters and Sandblasters who are motivated and eager to work on industrial projects. The role involves industrial painting, coating, and sandblasting within industrial environments, specifically focusing on pipe preparation for welders and structural steel. We value individuals who are self-starters, motivated, and able to operate power tools efficiently, while applying epoxy and urethane coatings with a high level of safety.

Responsibilities
  • Perform power tool cleaning and prep work for brush and roll type painting tasks.
  • Conduct surface preparation using hand tools like sandpaper and scrapers, as well as power tools such as grinders and orbital sanders.
  • Support blasters by handling blast lines, filling blast pots, and fueling compressors.
  • Assist painters by pulling paint lines and moving lighting equipment.
  • Proficiently apply masking techniques using tape and paper.
  • Execute all tasks under supervision with provided training and mentorship.
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial painting and blasting experience on industrial sites.
  • Proficiency in power tool cleaning and brush and roller paint application.
  • Ability to commute daily to the site; a vehicle is required.
  • Certifications in WHMIS, Fall protection, and Respirator Fit testing.
  • Clean-shaven for respirator use.
  • Personal protective equipment including FR Coveralls, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, and task-appropriate gloves.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Additional industrial painting and sandblasting experience.
  • CSTS and Fall protection certifications.
  • Additional safety tickets are advantageous.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
