Job summary

BGIS is seeking a Cleaner to support a designated site in Canada. You will perform routine cleaning duties per the client contract while following health and safety practices to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities include dusting, waste removal, restroom disinfection, floor care, and reporting deficiencies to management. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of industrial/commercial cleaning experience, can work independently, and communicates clearly.

Qualifications

• 1-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
• Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently.
• Good verbal communication and writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Positive attitude toward Environment, Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of WHMIS.

The Cleaner will be responsible for a designated job site contracted to BGIS for service. They will execute cleaning duties as per the client contract while adhering to health and safety practices with utmost professionalism striving to exceed client expectations.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning Duties

• Dust all office furniture.
• Empties and cleaning waste baskets.
• Collects coffee cups and leaves them in a designated area.
• Spot cleans walls, partitions, light switches and doors, windowsills.
• Cleans and polishes chrome and other polished metal surfaces.
• Cleans partition glass within reach.
• Cleans and disinfects washroom fixtures using green sealed products.
• Dusts baseboards and low air vents.
• Dust mops all office hard floor surfaces.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas at established frequencies.
• Removes all garbage bags from cleaner’s cart and places them in designated area for transport.
• Polishes wooden furniture, filing cabinets at established frequencies.
• Dust and damp wipes office equipment on an as requested basis.
• Washes metal and painted wall surfaces.
• Disinfect telephones at established frequencies and requested basis.
• Notifies management of occurring deficiencies or needs of repairs.
• Clean kitchen counters, sinks and appliances.
• Other responsibilities may vary depending on the work site.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Requires 1-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
• Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently.
• Good verbal communication and writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Positive attitude toward all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

• Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable.
