Kaizen Lab Inc. in Nanaimo, BC, is seeking a reliable Class 4 Driver to join our team. Keep our communities moving! BGC Central Vancouver Island is looking for a reliable, safety-conscious Class 4 Driver to join our team in Nanaimo, BC. In this essential role, you will be the smiling face that safely transports children and staff between schools and our exciting club programs.
Wage: $25.00 – $25.75 per hour (based on experience).
Hours: Part-Time, Split Shift (Roughly 7:30 am – 9:00 am and 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm), Monday – Friday.
Bonus Hours: Want more hours? Extra shifts are regularly available on Pro‑D days, winter/summer breaks, and for fun daycare out‑trips!

As a BGC Driver, you do more than just operate a vehicle—you set a positive, welcoming tone for the children’s day. Driving a mix of 15‑passenger vans and 24‑passenger buses, you will manage regular school routes and exciting field trip destinations, ensuring safety and compliance are always the top priority.
Safe Transit: Pick up and drop off children at designated school and club locations, strictly adhering to planned routes and time schedules.
Vehicle Care: Complete thorough pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections. Keep our fleet clean, fueled, and maintained in accordance with the BC Motor Vehicle Act and National Safety Code regulations.
Passenger Safety: Ensure all children are safely loaded, unloaded, and properly secured in seatbelts or car seats. Maintain a calm, respectful environment on the bus.
Team Communication: Keep program supervisors informed of any traffic delays, and complete daily logs, attendance sheets, and fuel card reconciliations accurately.
Program Support: Work collaboratively with club staff and, if needed, assist with basic first aid or medication delivery according to organizational policies.
Licensing: A valid, Unrestricted Class 4 BC Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
Safety: A valid First Aid Certificate.
Experience: Previous experience driving 24‑seater buses and working alongside school‑aged children is highly preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: A friendly, reliable demeanor with the ability to build great relationships with kids, parents, and school personnel.
