Job summary

Emterra Group is seeking an energetic Route Driver in Abbotsford to safely operate a Class 3 vehicle with air brakes, perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and collect residential recycling along designated routes. You will communicate with the Route Supervisor and customers to ensure timely, professional service.

We value punctual, reliable team players and prefer candidates with experience in the waste or recycling industry.

Qualifications

• Class 3 license with Air Endorsement and an abstract acceptable to the Employer.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to establish effective professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
• Experience in the waste and recycling industry or similar industry – an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safe operations of a Class 3 vehicle with air brakes;
• Safe collection of residential recycle blue boxes;
• Daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections;
• Observe safe work practices;
• Delivery of recycling to the recycle processing facility;
• Effective communication with the Route Supervisor and customers; and,
• Providing a professional collection service and promoting a positive company image.
