Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Driver/Operator Class 3 to safely transport and deliver bulk and packaged explosives. The role involves operating mobile manufacturing units, performing manual labor outdoors, and ensuring accurate loading/unloading with strict safety compliance at client sites.

Reporting to the Location Manager, you will complete pre/post-trip inspections, maintain records, and adhere to all provincial and federal explosive laws while supporting our home base and customer locations.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class 3 license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift 23 kg regularly.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and regulate to standards.
• Must meet provincial and federal explosive laws and ERD qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/operate vehicles and equipment safely and professionally.
• Drive 20–30% of time; perform manual labor with hand tools outdoors.
• Coordinate handling of mechanical systems to deliver emulsion.
• Transport goods, inventory, hazardous materials, and other cargo to destinations.
• Maintain driving/delivery logs and verify loads against manifests.
• Load/unload and transport materials to designated locations, with fall protection where needed.
• Operate MMUs on-site at customer locations to produce bulk products.
• Inspect vehicles pre/post-trip and report maintenance to Location Manager.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies for bulk/packaged explosives.
