Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a Truck Driver to provide safe delivery services to customers, assist in the lumber yard, and support store operations. You will be responsible for checking vehicles, loading cargo, and maintaining records.

The role requires physical work, outdoor conditions, and strong safety awareness. With Class 1 license and delivery experience, you will help ensure on-time, accurate deliveries while offering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Valid Class 1 license required.
Delivery driver experience preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical work.
Knowledge of safety standards and vehicle maintenance is important.
Bilingual English/French is an asset.
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

Deliver materials to private homes and construction sites safely (windows, doors, cement, shingles, etc).
Assist customers while working in lumber yard, warehouse and store.
Load and unload products.
Prepare trucks for loading and assist warehouse staff.
Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety.
Stay in contact with dispatch to resolve issues.
Verify load security and accuracy.
Report defects, violations, accidents or injuries.
Maintain professional behavior and follow safety rules.
Follow company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned by manager.
