Position Overview

At FBM, we value skilled, safety-focused drivers who play a key role in our daily operations. This hybrid Class 1 Driver / Warehouse Worker position offers daily home time and a balanced mix of driving and warehouse responsibilities. All pickups are local within the Lower Mainland, and the role requires experience with B-train tractor–trailers, as well as forklift operation during yard/warehouse downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Class 1 tractor–trailer, including B-train equipment
  • Complete local Lower Mainland pickups only
  • Inspect trucks daily and ensure loads are properly secured in accordance with company safety standards
  • Perform warehouse and yard duties between pickups, including:
    • Operating a forklift
    • Loading/unloading materials
    • Staging, moving, and protecting materials as required
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and arrive promptly to pre-booked pickup locations
  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations
  • Participate in required company training and meetings
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving tractor–trailers
  • B-train experience strongly preferred and used regularly in this role
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to read and write English to complete paperwork, follow written instructions, and fill out forms accurately
  • Strong time-management skills, as pickups are the primary focus of the role and some are time-sensitive
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, physical, and background check (post-offer)
  • Strong safety awareness and reliability
  • Basic knowledge of building materials is an asset
