Job summary

Sunrise Farms in Alberta is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver who is safety-focused and knowledgeable in National Safety Code regulations for Commercial Motor Vehicles. The ideal candidate demonstrates time-management, due diligence, and accountability in a day-to-day environment with minimal supervision.

This is a pay-per-load position. Responsibilities include transporting live animals from farms to Northern Alberta facilities, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring humane

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years issued Class 1 license with air brake (Q) endorsement.
• Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract printed within 30 days
• Resume with minimum of 3 years working experience with references*
• Provincial/Federal Daily Driver’s Log experience
• Maintenance/Heavy Duty repair experience is an asset
• Experience with transporting livestock is an asset

Responsibilities

• Safely transport live animals (e.g., poultry or cattle) from farms to designated facilities. (Northern Alberta Facilities)
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer
• Ensure humane handling of livestock
• Monitor animal welfare during transit and respond to emergencies if needed
• Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards of transport equipment
• Complete and submit accurate transport logs and delivery documentation
• Communicate effectively with farm staff, dispatch, and facility personnel

Role:

The candidate must have time-management abilities, practice due diligence, and have a sense of accountability due to day-to-day working environment involving minimal direct supervision.
