Job summary

Manitoulin Transport seeks a professional Class 1 City P&D Driver to join the Brandon Terminal. This role focuses on local pickup and delivery, load management, and customer relations for our local client base.

The position offers incentive-based pay, and requires a clean Class 1 license with a safe driving record, plus readiness for physical tasks and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean commercial abstract.
• Previous City P&D experience is a major asset.
• TDG, WHMIS certifications preferred; forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Local Pick-up & Delivery: Safely and efficiently manage freight pick-ups and deliveries for a variety of customers within the area.
• Load Management: Plan, load, and unload trailers to ensure maximum route efficiency and cargo security.
• Customer Relations: Represent the company professionally while servicing our local client accounts.
• Safety First: Maintain a clean safety record by performing pre/post-trip inspections and adhering to provincial trucking regulations.
• License: Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean commercial abstract.
• Experience: Previous City P&D experience is a major asset.
• Physical Fitness: Must be comfortable with the physical demands of loading and unloading trailers.
• Reliability: A proven track record of being dependable and punctual.
• Certifications: TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are preferred (but we are willing to train the right candidate).
