Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting in Edmonton is seeking a Claims Assistant to join a busy, transportation-focused commercial auto claims team. You will set up new claim files, keep notes current, and coordinate with claimants, repair facilities, and vendors to move items forward.

This role rewards accuracy, strong communication, and timely follow-through with a base salary of $45,000–$60,000 plus KPI bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, health benefits, RRSP, and tuition

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and Excel for documentation and tracking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a focus on customer service.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with ability to manage multiple files.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new claim files and enter them into internal platforms.
  • Keep file notes and documentation current, accurate, and well organized.
  • Scan/upload paperwork and ensure each file is complete.
  • Create routine claim correspondence (emails and letters).
  • Monitor timelines, diarize next steps, and drive follow-ups to prevent delays.
  • Coordinate with claimants, repair facilities, vendors, and other parties to move items forward.
  • Request and gather supporting materials such as police reports, photos, invoices, and receipts.
  • Provide clear progress updates to claimants and stakeholders.
  • Address concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Assist adjusters with preliminary, non-decision support tasks.
  • Protect sensitive information and follow privacy/data-handling requirements.

Compensation

  • Base salary between $45,000 – $60,000 depending on relevant experience (negotiable) plus annual KPI bonus
