About the Role

Maple Mutual is looking for an experienced insurance leader to join our team as Claims & Loss Control Manager, guiding strategic risk‑management initiatives and ensuring exceptional service for our policyholders. In this role, you will oversee end‑to‑end claims operations, lead proactive loss prevention programs, and implement strategies aimed at reducing claim frequency and severity. This is an opportunity to make a measurable impact, mentor a dedicated team, and contribute to the success of a trusted insurer rooted in a strong, community‑focused culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in daily operations of the claims and loss control teams, including intake, inspection, evaluation, settlement, inspections
  • Analyze loss trends and collaborate with underwriting, finance, Agents and Brokers to support informed decision making
  • Drive loss prevention and risk‑control programs, focusing on managing exposures, preventing losses, and enhancing the policy holder experience
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies
  • Manage complex files and provide guidance to adjusters, examiners, and third‑party partners
  • Monitor claims performance metrics, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Lead and mentor the team, fostering a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education, Insurance or Business‑related preferred
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation; FCIP and/or CRM designation an asset
  • 10+ years P&C claims experience, including leadership responsibilities; Experience in risk control or loss prevention an asset
  • Strong knowledge of property, auto, and liability lines, claims legislation and litigation processes
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
