Job description

Seymour Pacific Developments is looking for a Civil Superintendent to support project operations throughout Vancouver Island. The Civil Superintendent is responsible for the start and completion of all civil works on multi-building, multi-family, residential construction sites. Your contributions to the team

• Understand construction drawings and the scope of the tasks required
• Can establish and follow committed scheduling
• Follow established direction and coordinate site activities
• Work on a congested site with other trades
• Follow, plans and specifications and implement a quality control site-based program
• Uphold and enforce company safety regulations, policies and procedures
• Handle multiple crews simultaneously, while giving direction and training

What you need to be successful

• Minimum 5 years’ civil construction experience in a leadership role
• Residential and commercial construction experience
• Understanding of methodology and terminology in the civil construction industry
• Experience supervising a construction crew
• Ability to operate all types of heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction drawings
• Ability to direct survey crew and have a complete understanding of stakes and grades
• Ability to set up lines and grades with lasers or a construction level
• Working experience in earthworks and utility installation inspections
• Experience using MS Office Suite and construction related software
• Must be able to delegate tasks and responsibilities to the crew
• Knowledge of civil construction and utilities is required
