Qualifications

The Opportunity

Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Civil-Structural Engineer to our Power Division team in our Mississauga, Ontario office (Hybrid). This role will support the design and development of civil-structural engineering projects, working closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on industry experience.

Your Role
  • Prepare engineering deliverables for equipment support structures, foundations, site grading, access roads, and site drainage.
  • Develop conceptual studies, plans, maps, and layouts for civil‑structural projects.
  • Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports.
  • Perform technical calculations, material take‑offs, and feasibility estimates.
  • Conduct field site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil‑Structural Engineering.
  • 1‑3 years of related experience (co‑op or work experience in electrical substations or transmission line projects is preferred).
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Training (EIT) in Ontario or another Canadian province.
  • Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles, practices, and design methods.
  • Experience with STAAD.Pro, MathCAD, and/or PLS‑CADD is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer‑based design tools.
