A civil engineering firm in Burnaby seeks a candidate for basic engineering tasks related to wastewater treatment projects. Under supervision, the role includes supporting design and development, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring alignment with project specifications. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential. The position is located at the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Under direct supervision of a registered professional engineer, performs basic engineering-related tasks in support of studies, design and report development involving site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single-story structures. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements under guidance. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference. Note : All engineering-related work is reviewed and approved by a registered professional engineer.
