Job summary

D&G Landscaping, an Ottawa-based heavy civil and landscape construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator focused on quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid preparation, and subcontractor coordination. Depending on needs, the role may support project management during peak periods.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and understands heavy civil construction, excavation, site servicing, landscape construction, and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, commercial landscaping, or related fields.
• Ability to read civil drawings, grading plans, landscape plans, specifications, and tender documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Bluebeam or similar software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for civil, excavation, site servicing, concrete, hardscape, softscape, and landscape construction scopes.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid submissions; maintain pricing files.
