Job description

The College of New Caledonia is looking for an instructor to teach in the Civil Engineering Technology Program.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering preferred; at least a Civil Engineering Technologist diploma required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work-related experience in Canada or the US.
  • Preference for current Civil Engineers with proven teaching experience.
  • Completion of the Provincial Instructor’s Diploma Program (PIDP) or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Extensive relevant practical Civil Engineering Technology experience is an asset.
  • Registration with, or eligibility for registration with, EGBC or ASTTBC required.
  • Computer literacy with a desire to incorporate electronic learning platforms into curriculum and courses.
  • A Structural Engineering designation preferred for applicants interested in teaching CIVE 215: Structural Design II.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.

This position may require travel throughout the region.

Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes as far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.

Salary: $92.22 - $102.20 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
