Dillon Consulting Limited in Kingston is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join the Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. The role focuses on water, sewers, stormwater, and roads, with a hybrid work model and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering drawings for storm, sanitary, water servicing plans, grading and road profiles for greenfield and reconstruction projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and servicing reports to support design.
• Assist in project delivery by preparing specifications and documentation for construction tender packages.
• Coordinate with sub consultants and participate in project team meetings.
• Assist with on-site work as required.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, including water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways.

This is a new position and is based at our Kingston office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities

About the Position

Project Coordination & Design

• Produce preliminary and detailed design of municipal infrastructure, land development projects and transportation projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team including engineers and technologists.
• Develop engineering drawings for private and municipal stakeholders including (but not limited to) storm / sanitary / water servicing plans, grading designs, road profiles and cross section details for greenfield and reconstruction projects.
• Prepare and/or review technical reports and calculations to support the design process including storm and sanitary sewer design tables, functional servicing reports, and volume calculations.
• Assist in project delivery by preparing specifications and documentation for construction tender packages including quantity take offs, traffic control plans and review of shop drawings.
• Coordinate with sub consultants.
• Attend/ participate in project team meetings.
• Assist with other duties such as on-site work as required.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and a valid registration as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) or Certified Technician (CTech), or eligible for registration within six months, is considered an asset but not a requirement.
• 0-3 year's work experience, with prior consulting engineering and/or municipal/land development experience considered an asset.

• Experience in the use of current AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• Exhibit Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of roads, sewers, water mains and drainage works including relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, including the ability work in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask on various projects.
• Previous experience using Bluebeam Revu is considered an asset but not a requirement.

Compensation$48,000- $75,000At Dillon, we believe in transparency. The following salary range is what we expect to offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
