Job summary

J.E. Anderson & Associates, based in Campbell River, BC, is hiring a Junior/Intermediate Civil Engineering Tech to support civil design, drafting, and field tasks across Northern Vancouver Island.

You’ll report to the Campbell River engineering lead and contribute to site servicing, drainage, and road design. Ideal candidates have hands-on civil engineering experience and post-secondary training, with Civil3D or AutoCAD proficiency, strong communication, and a willingness to travel locally,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience conducting civil engineering work.
• Post-secondary education in civil engineering.
• Proficiency with Civil3D or AutoCAD.
• Understanding of site servicing, stormwater and sewage, and road/active transportation design.
• Strong engineering principles and standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and ferry travel.
• Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Civil design, drafting, and calculations work using Civil3D.
• Support with project coordination and client communications.
• Site reviews and inspections.
• Occasional field work, including construction layout and topographic surveys.
• Support with proposals, reports, and applications.
• Liaising with project managers, contractors, approving authorities, clients, and the public.
