Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate for the Transportation team in North Bay, Ontario. This on-site role supports the planning and design of provincial highway facilities and involves preparing reports, construction plans, and technical specifications.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary design engineers, technicians and planners, under supervision of a project manager. The position starts in May 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation, Highway, or Roadway Engineering.
• Internship or professional work experience in transportation design.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with standard office software and spreadsheet tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Working within the (Highway) Design group on the planning and design of provincial highway facilities
• Preparation of reports, construction plans, and technical specifications
• Collaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians and planners
• Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids

• Must be completing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineeringwith a focus in Transportation, Highway, or Roadway Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, AutoTurn, InRoads/ OpenRoads, InfraWorks)
• Relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills
• Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, Microsoft Project, and standard office software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
