Job summary

Phasor Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineering Drafter to join our team in Calgary. You will transform concepts into construction-ready drawings for utility, substations, transmission, and infrastructure projects, collaborating with civil, structural, geotechnical, and electrical teams.

Requirements include a Diploma/Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or drafting, at least 2 years of drafting experience, and strong AutoCAD skills. Experience with Civil 3D is an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in civil engineering, consulting, or construction.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience preparing construction and engineering drawing packages.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey data, and design markups.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related drafting software.
• Develop site plans, grading plans, profiles, sections, foundation details, and construction drawings.
• Produce drawings for utility infrastructure, substations, access roads, drainage systems, foundations, and site developments.
• Incorporate engineering markups, survey information, field data, and design revisions into drawing packages.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Support the preparation of Issued for Construction (IFC) and other project deliverables.
• Review drawings for compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and client expectations.
• Maintain drawing templates, standards, layers, blocks, and revision histories.
• Update existing drawings based on field conditions, engineering changes, and project requirements.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, schedules, and supporting documentation as required.
• Participate in quality reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Drafter to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and technical professionals to develop high-quality drawings and design packages that support utility, substation, transmission, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

What you'll do:

As a Civil Engineering Drafter, you will play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into clear, accurate, and construction-ready drawings. Working closely with civil, structural, geotechnical, and electrical teams, you will contribute to projects from initial design through construction.

Required Qualifications
