A leading engineering firm in Metro Vancouver is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to lead technical aspects of electrical projects associated with EV charging systems. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 3+ years of Professional Engineering experience, preferably registered in relevant provinces. Bilingual candidates are highly valued. Competitive salary ranges from $91,200 to $125,400 based on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer with a deep expertise in vehicle depot design for light, medium and heavy duty vehicles. The ideal candidate will lead all technical aspects related to field of the civil engineering for electrical distribution systems of EV charging systems including traffic flows, parking arrangements, and civil designs for construction.

What you can expect to do here:
  • You will lead the technical development of electrical projects, from preliminary studies to detailed engineering;
  • You will prepare, review, and approve drawings including but not limited to site plans, grading, drainage, electrical equipment foundations, trenching, and traffic flow.
  • You will be familiar with various EV charging systems
  • You will review federal, municipal, and client standards to ensure design are compliant.
  • Work with clients to identify their needs and transpose them into requirement registers.
  • You will work with the electrical team to prepare complete specifications and design packages.
  • Oversee members of the design & drafting team.
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment installation specifications with respect to foundations, mechanical protections, and other civil components.
  • Attend project technical reviews
  • Coordinate will project stakeholders including the client, utility providers, municipal agencies, and engineering firms with the support of the Project Manager.
  • You will review and approve RFPs for the installation of equipment;
  • You will prepare and analyze bids and tender documents;
  • You will ensure deadlines are respected and that the quality of deliverables is ensured;
  • You will represent the firm to clients.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years of active Professional Engineering experience.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineering in one (1) or more provinces/Territories.
  • Fluent in the English language. Bilingual French and English is highly valued.
  • Experience with hydrogen fueling systems is an asset.
Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $91 200 - $125 400

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
