Overview
Adecco is actively seeking a detail-oriented Intermediate Civil Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Sudbury, ON. This full-time role involves preparing comprehensive engineering documents and designs for land development projects, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, and the ability to manage complex projects from planning through construction.
Pay Rate: $75k-$100k / year.
Location: Sudbury, ON
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering and construction drawings for diverse land development projects
- Develop detailed plans, profiles, and 3D models using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Interpret and apply municipal and provincial design standards and regulatory requirements
- Produce technical reports and documentation for engineering and planning submissions
- Create and manage design spreadsheets and data presentations using Microsoft Excel
- Collaborate with project teams to revise and finalize high-quality engineering drawings
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Provide on-site supervision and support during construction phases as needed
- Keep current with the latest CAD and Civil 3D software developments in coordination with senior staff
- Assist senior engineers in developing solutions for complex design challenges
- Manage multiple concurrent projects independently and as part of a team, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
Requirements
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario
- Minimum 5 years of civil design experience, focusing on land development projects
- Advanced skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of municipal engineering standards and regulatory approval processes
- Experience in project coordination and construction supervision considered an asset
- Thorough understanding of provincial and federal regulations related to civil engineering
- Technical expertise in field data collection, instrumentation, monitoring, and sampling methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to deliver cost-effective and practical solutions
- Effective time management and ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Comfortable working both in office and on construction sites
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with clients, contractors, and colleagues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle
