City of Vancouver is seeking a Civil Engineer I – Streets Design, Asset Management, to lead sidewalk and pavement asset management, support Green Infrastructure initiatives, and help deliver Transportation 2040 and related plans. This role reports to the Senior Pavement Engineer and collaborates with Streets Design and Asset Management teams.
You will conduct inspections, maintain asset records in Hansen and ArcGIS, and help develop standards and procedures while assisting in pilot projects.

The Streets Design Civil Engineer I – Asset Management is responsible for the assessment, rehabilitation, piloting, promotion and design of City of Vancouver Street assets. The position assists in supporting Greenest City initiatives such as Transportation 2040 Plan, Zero Waste 2040 Plan and Green Infrastructure Implementation Plan using permeable pavements and sidewalks, Green Roads and the use of recycled material content in the design and rehabilitation of Street assets. The position is responsible for the asset management (including inspection and long-range planning) of pavements and sidewalks in the City and for assisting the Senior Pavement Engineer for the piloting, promotion, training and quality assurance of permeable pavements and sidewalks.
The Civil Engineer I reports to the Senior Pavement Engineer in Streets Asset Management and works closely with the Asset Management team in Streets Design as well as with other Streets Design technical staff and staff from other Asset Management Engineering Branches. One of the biggest partners for this position is the technical staff within Street Operations. This position will also Interact with the public, outside agencies and other employees when needed.
