Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join our land development team. You will draft engineering/construction drawings, create plans and profiles, and support municipal approvals processes using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

The ideal candidate has a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field, up to five years of relevant experience, and familiarity with Projectwise, BIM360, Procore, or Sharepoint. Excellent English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design Technology, or similar.
• Up to 5 years of industry experience in land development or municipal engineering design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with Projectwise, BIM360, Procore, Sharepoint or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong computer and analytical skills.
• Knowledge or experience in construction projects is an asset.
• Excellent English communication skills; detail-oriented and creative problem solving.
• Ability to work with engineers on multidisciplinary development projects.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Designing and drafting of engineering/construction drawings for various land development projects;
• Creating plans, profiles and 3‑D drawings in Civil 3D format;
• Interpreting and implementing standards from regulatory bodies;
• Producing written reports for development projects;
• Producing design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel;
• Enhancing data charts and tables for presentation;
• Producing and modifying drawings;
• Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
• Providing site supervision on construction projects;
• Keeping up to date on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/Civil3D in consultation with senior CAD staff.
