Manufacturing Job Site in Victoria, BC is seeking a Construction Estimator to analyze drawings, prepare cost estimates, and manage unit costs for civil excavation projects. You will develop cost databases, solicit subcontractor bids, and prepare tender packages, while coordinating with project stakeholders and tracking budgets.

The role requires a civil technology background or equivalent, strong negotiation and project management skills, and experience with Bluebeam, MS Project, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Civil technology diploma required or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam for take-offs and pricing.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel.
• Strong negotiation skills for pricing and terms.
• Knowledge of construction estimating techniques and best practices.
• Construction experience preferred to understand project complexities.
• Ability to price from quantity take-offs accurately.
• Excellent communication with clients, suppliers, and team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals, and contracts to prepare cost estimates.
• Calculate quantities and develop cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Prepare detailed estimates for residential, commercial, industrial, and civil projects.
• Prepare tender submissions, bid packages, and pricing proposals.
• Monitor budgets and compare actual vs estimated costs.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare progress and cost reports and forecasts for management.
