A leading company is seeking a CADD Designer to join their Utility team in Toronto. The role involves creating and maintaining design drawings, coordinating with team members, and ensuring compliance with CAD standards. Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of experience with MicroStation and knowledge of local municipal standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on significant transportation projects while collaborating with a dedicated team.
The CADD Designer will work with the Utility team and coordinate with other team members to deliver quality work in support of client projects while meeting CAD design standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities include * Creating, maintaining and editing existing and proposed design drawings and construction plans for transportation projects utilizing Microstation Connect Edition and Open roads Designer. * Reviewing and learning to understand Topographic and SUE surveys, Telecom blueprints, As-builts plans, and other sources of information that utility base drawings. * Coordinating and being proactive with Lead utility team for comments, markups, conflicts to be address for submissions. Being able to do calculations, using notes or sketches prepared by engineers. Drafting geometry and design components for accurate descriptions of components. * Providing clear and detailed plan preparation work, compliant with accepted design/drafting standards of the client including manuals, standard figures and plans, or other resources. * Understanding terminology, technology, and other concepts related to transportation engineering, utilities and construction practices. * Facilitating and ensuring the quality and accuracy of drawings and graphic work produced for the team. * Preparing and checking quantity calculations from plans. * Incorporating and compiling multiple sub-plans/designs into consolidated master plans. * Quality review (QC/QA) of CAD files and submission drawings. Education | Experience: Minimum Qualifications * Standard Knowledge for local municipalities, City of Toronto, MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, OPSD will be an asset. * 2 to 5 years of recent project experience working with MicroStation V8i/Connect Edition is required (Advance level of proficiency). * Utility relocation design/drafting experience will be an asset. * Good Written and verbal communication Skills. * Excellent teamwork skills. * Detail oriented. Permanent Residents and Canadian Citizens will be given preference for this opportunity. Relocation is not being offered for this position.
