Job summary

JDS Energy & Mining seeks an experienced Civil CAD Technician to support the design and development of mining and civil infrastructure projects across our operations. This role will produce high-quality drawings and models for mine sites, heavy civil infrastructure, and earthworks.

Based in Vancouver, BC, the position collaborates with engineers, surveyors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver constructible designs that promote safety and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for civil and mining infrastructure projects
• Develop site grading, earthworks, road designs, drainage systems, and mine support layouts
• Produce plans, profiles, cross sections, and construction details
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project teams to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables
• Revise drawings based on markups, field conditions, and client feedback
• Maintain drafting standards, drawing controls, and document management procedures
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines for integrated project delivery
• Support construction teams with as-built drawings and site revisions as required
• Participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes
