Job summary

JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Civil CAD Designer / Draftsperson to support the design and development of mining and civil infrastructure projects across our operations.

You will produce high-quality drawings and 3D models for mine sites, heavy civil infrastructure, and earthworks, collaborating with engineers, surveyors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and constructible designs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for civil and mining infrastructure projects
• Develop site grading, earthworks, road designs, drainage systems, and mine support infrastructure layouts
• Produce plans, profiles, cross sections, and construction details
• Collaborate closely with engineers, surveyors, and project teams to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering markups, field conditions, and client feedback
• Maintain drafting standards, drawing controls, and document management procedures
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines for integrated project delivery
• Support construction teams with as-built drawings and site revisions as required
• Participate in design reviews and quality assurance processes
