Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and resilient individual to join our transportation team. As a City Dispatcher, you are at the nerve center of our operations, coordinating responses and managing labour and tasks in a fast-paced work environment. You will handle diverse calls, prioritize situations with sound judgment, and ensure our driver group has the information they need to stay safe and efficient.

This role demands the ability to remain calm under pressure, exceptional organizational skills, and a steadfast commitment to reliability.

  • 9am-6pm Mon-Fri.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and dispatch LTL shipments to drivers and carriers.
  • Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communicate with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Resolve service issues, delays, or disruptions professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies.

Vacation and medical coverage for fellow supervisors are required for the position.

Qualifications
  • Previous dispatching experience (LTL preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and industry practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • AS400 experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • A consistent and dependable work ethic is essential.
  • Flexibility to cover other shifts as necessary.
