Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Kettle Coordinator II for a short-term contract to oversee multiple kettle locations in a defined zone. You will support volunteer teams, recruit volunteers, and ensure donations are secured and accurately reported.

Daily coordination with the campaign team and site partners is essential, along with responding to donor inquiries. The role requires flexibility, weekend shifts, and the ability to work in mall/store environments, including exposure to cold weather.

• Some high school coursework; completion of high school is an asset.
• One year of related experience or working in customer service.
• Money handling experience is an asset.

• Valid G driver’s license and a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple kettle locations within a defined zone.
• Supervise and support kettle volunteers throughout the campaign.
• Recruit and orient new volunteers.
• Ensure donations are secure and properly counted and recorded.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and mileage reports weekly.
• Communicate daily with the City/Assistant Coordinator for transitions and issues.
• Respond to donor questions about Salvation Army programs.

**Job Description:**POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign • Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset • Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion • Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator • Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required • Supervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign • Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers • Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently • Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition • Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis) • Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received. • Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs. • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Governance Boards and Councils: n/a Internal: TSA staff members, Kettle campaign team External: Community membersMANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports directly to the Corps Officer. The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.WORKING CONDITIONS: • This is a temporary position. • Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a 1⁄2 hour unpaid meal break. • Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. • Work environment is typically in malls/stores • Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather • Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification. • Local travel is associated with this position, using a program vehicle may be necessary.
