Job summary

North of Superior Counselling Programs (NOSP) is seeking a Counsellor, Children’s Services in Nipigon, ON. This full‑time, on‑site role supports children and youth up to 17 with mental health challenges within a clinical team.

You will provide access/intake, assessment, brief service, counselling, crisis response, case management, and family support. Services may occur in person, in-community, or virtually, per client needs.

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration with Ontario regulatory colleges as listed.
• Ability to engage with children, youth, and families effectively.
• Experience with evidence-informed assessments and counselling.
• Develop goals and care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Knowledge of social determinants of health and family systems.
• Understanding PHIPA privacy practices in rural settings.
• Ability to organize and multi-task with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide core mental health services including intake, assessment, and brief services.
• Deliver individual and group counselling with a family-centered approach.
• Respond to crises and provide case management and family support.
• Collaborate with a clinical team and other service providers in the district.
• Deliver services in person, in-community, or virtually as needed.
